outdoors. The terrific Park Search(TM), part of the company's Web site,
lets you "browse nearly 900 national parks and forests, state parks and
other great outdoor locales across the U.S. from the comfort of your
home." Don't get too comfortable, though, or you'll miss such rugged
retreats as DeSoto State Park in Fort Payne, Ala., which "covers more than
5,067 acres along Little River Canyon, one of the deepest gorges east of
the Mississippi. The river, extending more than 35 miles, is the only one
in the nation that forms and flows on a mountaintop for its entire
length." Entries include color photos and useful descriptions, and are
searchable by park name, activity and location -- so no matter your
destination or recreation, you're likely to find somewhere to try out all
that L.L. Bean gear. |
