- NetVet marks out its territory here with a colorful list of veterinary home pages. Vets and zoologists will frolic amidst these fields of links to colleges, labs, and animal rights groups. The site features a Pick of the Litter (the best animal page of the week), and it's also the Web home of the USDA's Animal Welfare Information Center, which covers topics like "ruminant anesthesia problems." Pet owners who just want to know how much to feed a two headed calf will have more trouble. Finding Anything can be hard here, since the links are piled up behind complex categories like Informatics and Virtual Library. Still, veterinarian Dr. Ken Boschert deserves a scratch behind the ears for his hard work in compiling this site. Good boy!
- "SINCE 1792, The Old Farmer's Almanac has published useful information for people in all walks of life: tide tables for those who live near the ocean; sunrise tables and planting charts for those who live on the farm; recipes for those who live in the kitchen; and weather predictions for those who don't like the question of weather left up in the air."--site.
